Lonny's Smile Foundation incorporated as a charity

Toronto, ON, April 2011: Lonny's Smile Foundation has received the Ontario Letters Patent confirming incorporation as a charity, an important step forward! As a Foundation, Lonny's Smile can raise funds and direct them to registered charities. Registration with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) is planned.

The vision of Lonny's Smile Foundation is to provide a sense of normalcy to children whose lives are challenged by medical conditions. The Foundation aims to empower these children so that they can experience the wonders of childhood such as a sense of play, friendship, laughter and adventure.

“The decision to incorporate Lonny's Smile Foundation as a charity represents a significant milestone in our commitment to help kids with medical conditions feel like other kids. It provides us with a platform to raise funds and direct them towards the many needs of these kids in our community. We are looking forward to engaging with other charitable organizations who share our vision in the pursuit of this important mission”, said Tamara Doerksen, Lonny's Smile Founder.

Lonny's Smile Foundation chooses areas of focus by getting experienced-based input from the front line support workers who see the needs every day. By looking through their eyes and seeking their insights the Foundation identifies needs that are unfulfilled/under-served by other organizations and executes targeted campaigns that focus on those needs.

An important part of the Lonny's Smile vision is to let Kids Help Kids by leading the charge in local fundraisers to make a difference to kids with medical challenges in their own community.
